And if you’re cooking small portions then this pan is a MUST HAVE item in your range.

It’s ideal for almost anything. If you are heating a sauce or warming a little butter then its small size makes it great for these sorts of tasks. Equally if you enjoy a boiled egg then what better way to prepare one... in a pan where the boiling water will actually cover them.

The same goes for hot chocolate, milk and custards. Isn’t is annoying when you leave the milk for that split second too long and suddenly it all starts to boil over. Not here. The extra depth of the body means that you need not fill it all the way to the brim to still have plenty left to enjoy.

If you’re just cooking for yourself or counting your calories then this is the ideal size for any small portion of potatoes or vegetables and again, because it's height this Jug is also perfect for cooking your Asparagus or Corn on the Cob. It really is incredibly versatile.

The cookware is made from Stainless Steel 403 and has a thick 5 mm encapsulated aluminium base which means that you get a really rapid and even transfer of heat.

Although all of the Doctor Cook cookware has been developed to work effieciently on all cooking surfaces including Induction, if you are cooking on an induction hob top you may have problems with this item due to the size of the magnetic contact of the base. If in doubt please choose the 14cm Pot Pan instead.

If you are cooking on any other surface including gas, electric, ceramic or solid fuel then you will find this piece of cookware to perform excellently. Coupled with the use of the glass lids, the conductive base plate and the high grade American Quantanium Non-Stick coating makes this pan a highly energy efficient, easy to use and clean, multi-purpose pan.

The soft-touch silicone coated ergonomic handle - this feels smooth and comfortable in your hand . It stops you from slipping, protects you from the heat of the pan and stays cool during use. Simply grab the pan in your naturally strongest and most comfortable grip and you’re cooking... safely and without strain.

The soft-touch silicone coated ergonomic lid knob – this feels the same. Soft, comfy and really easy to grip.

The reinforced glass lid. The glass is 4mm thick. The lid has been designed to allow you to trap in vital moisture, steam, flavours and nutrients whilst allowing you to closely monitor what is going on inside the cooking chamber.

The pan body is made from Stainless Steel 430. This is 0.6 mm thick.

A front pouring lip makes it easy to serve fluids, sauces, gravies and custards straight from the pan.

The body is coated with the Quantanium Non-Stick coating from Whitford. Whitford is an American manufacturer of Non-Stick coatings specifically for the housewares industry. All of their coatings have been tested to the highest standards. Although Whitford claim that it is safe for you to use metal utensils with this non-stick coating which contains Titanium for extra strength, we here at Doctor Cook Ltd, tend not to recommend this. As I am sure you will recognize, the use of metal utensils on the non-stick coating is only going to speed up the rate at which this wears away despite the fact that the Titanium in Quantanium makes this coating one of the best on the market.

An encapsulated Aluminium base. What that means is that a core of aluminium, 5mm thick has been encapsulated in a stainless steel base plate that has then been impact bonded to the bottom of the Stainless Steel pan bowl. The aluminium transfers heat much more efficiently than steel alone so you benefit from a rapid and even distribution of heat across the cooking surface. Encapsulating this aluminium core in a stainless steel plate gives you a stable base on your cooking stove and ensures that this cookware is suitable for use on all cooking surfaces including induction.
